Natures Mistake

How long have you been doing what you’re doing?

5 Years strong

How did you start your brand?

I started this brand with 2 hands, 1 bucket of ink, and a big ass dream….

How did you come up with the name Natures Mistake?

We came up with Natures Mistake because we’re always fucking up, but it leads to the best ideas you’ve ever seen. If you don’t make mistakes, you aren’t trying anything new, ya heard!

Where are you based and what do you like (or dislike) about living and working there?

We are based out of Los Angeles, land of the jaded, home of the frayed!

What qualities set you apart from other T-Shirt making companies?

We don’t make T-shirts, T-Shirts make us…HAHA, actually, we are not a t-shirt making company, we are a brand, a lifestyle. And we offer a lot more than just shirts. We like to push the limit and offer things you don’t typically see from a brand, ex. is our own NM food line coming soon, yes food!!!! Our name alone sets us apart from the rest, you won’t see us adding “clothing co” or “couture” to the end of our name, you know how some of these people do it. Lame Crap Clothing Co Couture.

What is your process for creating a new T-Shirt, do you screen print yourselves? Etc.

The way one of our peeps describes our design concepts is, when we put our heads together on a concept it creates an explosion. We do print and manufacture all of our product in house. Willy Wonka had his secrets and so do we.  The End!

What inspiration/influences do you draw from when creating new designs?

When we create new designs, the world is our influence. We rely on our twisted imaginations to come up with all the new fresh design concepts.

Do you bring artists/designers in to collaborate on T-shirts? If so, how do you go about finding them and deciding to include them in your line?

We only have 2 main artists. Lefty Joe Torres and Carson “Gnarson” Cornett from Los Angeles. We are currently in the works with John Park (LA) and Damian King (SF) on a few collabo designs. We like to push artists and have them push back. If there stuff is dope and people want to see more then we keep them aboard.

What were you doing before this?

Before this I raised Platypus’s on a ranch in Australia.

When are you most productive? Do you come up with your best ideas while your just hanging out or in a full-fledged business brainstorm session?

I’m most productive 23/7. Need that 1 hour to rest each day. So I’m in Miami right now, it’s 5:30am here, 2:30am LA, Pretty fucking productive if I say so. But, full-fledged business brainstorm sessions are a waste of time. Best ideas come when you’re not put on the spot.

Is there any direction you hope to take your line in in the next year or so? Are you planning on doing anything differently?

No and No. Not Broke…Don’t Fix…Next question please!

Five songs you can’t stop listening to right now?

How about 1 song. Enter the Ninja by Die Antwoord, These guys are Natures Mistake to the fullest. Different, and different is good. Just like they said, if you don’t like us, then you’re not on our level. And by the way, can someone tell Die fuckin’ Antwoord to hit us up? We got a bunch of NM gear with their names on it…

What do you like to do when you’re not developing and distributing awesome T-Shirts?

What do you like to do when you’re not asking such stupid questions? Haha, sorry Paul, we gotta give you shit. We all pretty much work all the time, ain’t no rest for the twisted.

Any last words or shout outs?

Check out NaturesMistake.net for all the newest craziest shit. And remember, Natures Mistake is better than your favorite brand!!

CHECK FOR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR PLEASE, BYE PAUL
