Semi Precious Weapons New Album “You Love You” Review
Semi Precious Weapons released their first album “We Love You” in 2008 and have just recently come out with their second album with the cheeky title “You Love You.” The New York band strikes your ear drums with heavy rock guitar and glam rock vocals. The album has a decently wide range with slower numbers like “Look At Me” and “Magnetic Baby” and more headbanging tracks, which seem to be their strongpoints, like “Rock n Roll Never Looked So Beautiful” and “Magnetic Baby.” They have the adrenaline of ACDC and are comparable to Jet but with more attitude. The lyrics are edgy, littered with talk of diamonds and champagne. Despite the creativity it can, at times, come off as cheesy. They’re audacious and bold but they’re music doesn’t sound totally novel or outstandingly original. They definitely have attitude but I’m not totally sold on it as it seems a bit forced and cliché.
